How does it feel to be the one who discovered something? (I’m not going to say this is going to be anything special, but I hope it can be something which someone looks forward to reading!)
This is my first ever blog entry, I don’t know whether I started this for selfish reasons or not, but I do know that I want to share all the impactful things I learn, talk about mistakes I’ve made, the stories of people I meet, how I create, how seeing others achieve things inspires me, and so much more. And I want to find a community of people like me, who just want to share their stories and their art.
I’m going to start off with sharing my life philosophy, my mum and dad always say, “just try your best, and that’s good enough” and it’s really stuck with me. So, I’m going to try my best here, and maybe help some of you do it too, I really can’t wait to meet you all.
I’m reading a book at the moment called “You’re not Listening” by Kate Murphy; Murphy discusses the art of conversation and how if you just listen, you can learn so much about a person and yourself. I’d like to take on Murphy’s teachings and discover the hidden facts of the world by having meaningful conversations. I would really recommend this book, I still haven’t finished it- you’ll learn I barely ever finish books ahh, but it really is eye-opening.
So, if somehow, you stumbled upon this entry and are considering stopping reading- That’s okay. But you might find something here that’s worth sticking around for.
And I promise I’ll get better at punctuation, my big sister is always breathing down my neck about it, I literally only figured out how to use a comma and I’m in lower sixth.
I was considering keeping this an anonymous blog for many reasons, however, I want to share who I am, so I can connect with the people who read this. So here is a small introduction:
I am Jenny. I am a British girl who’s 16 going on 17. I am the 3rd of 4 sisters. My favourite band is the Gorillaz, I swear I’m so obsessed, the mix of art and music is just perfect. I also love art, music, anime and house plants, (books? and fashion…), and other things that I’ll talk about! I am an IB student, so you can probably expect that I’m not that sane! Here are my higher subjects in character form:
People think I’m crazy when I tell them my subjects, “Jenny what the heck are you doing?!!?? Do you know what you’re going to do with your life?” Nah, they don’t actually say that, but that’s what I expect is going on in their heads. Yes, I might be a bit conflicted about what side of my personality to pursue into adulthood, but I chose these subjects for a reason.
Someone told me once that it’s better to do what you love, and if you do that you’ll find a way through life.
By the way, that drawing was the first of many I’m going to have in this blog. I want to have a mixed media blog of comic strips, illustrations, poems, interview scripts, photo collections and more! It’s going to be a real creative outlet, and I can’t wait to get started!
^hopefully someday some of you readers would like to collaborate and we can make some pages together!
But I should probably stop here, don’t want to make this introduction too long!
So, here I am,
Signing off for the first time,
(music recommendation: No Luck by Bad Sounds)
